This course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to prevent, recognize, and effectively respond to diving emergencies—both minor and major. Throughout the course, you’ll learn how to manage stress in yourself and others, assist tired or panicked divers, handle emergency scenarios, and apply rescue techniques both on the surface and underwater. You’ll practice realistic rescue exercises, improve your situational awareness, and gain a deeper understanding of diver safety.
To complete the course, is required:
1. A valid First Aid/CPR certification (such as SSI React Right, Emergency First Response, or equivalent);
2. Completion of theoretical training, including reading a manual or digital materials and passing a final exam;
3. Successful performance of water-based rescue exercises; and,
4. Two open water training dives, where you’ll apply your skills in various simulated scenarios.
This course is challenging, rewarding, and often described as one of the most valuable and empowering certifications a diver can earn. It not only makes you a better dive buddy, but also prepares you to handle unexpected situations with confidence and calm.
