The Enriched Air Nitrox certification (available through both SSI and PADI) is one of the most popular and useful specialties for divers of all levels—and for good reason! This course teaches you how to safely dive using enriched air mixtures containing 22% to 40% oxygen, allowing you to extend your bottom time, reduce nitrogen absorption, and shorten surface intervals—especially useful for multiple dives in a day or liveaboard trips.
In just about two hours, you’ll complete an engaging classroom or digital session that includes: Understanding the benefits and limits of diving with enriched air, learning how to analyze oxygen content in your tank, adjusting your dive planning using Nitrox tables or dive computers, and reviewing safety procedures and oxygen exposure limits.
It’s a theory-based certification with no required dives, but the best way to apply your new skills is—of course—underwater! At the end of the course, you’ll have the option to add a dive or dive combo using Nitrox, so you can put your training into action and experience the benefits right away.
